Version 1.01 - Post-Jam Update


This is a quick update fixing some of the bugs found in the game that weren't able to fixed before the final cut for the GWJ77's deadline. Changes include the following:

Features:

  • Parallax background
  • Power-ups now move towards player if the player is within the power-up's detection radius.

Bug fixes:

  • Add missing jaw sprites.
  • Repeatedly hitting "Ready" on the head selection screen no longer attaches more than one pair of heads.
  • Fix numerous accesses to previously freed nodes, causing freezes.
  • Prevent the scene handler from trying to change the scene multiple times.
  • Prevent removal of head if neither head exists.
  • Prevent Power-ups from spawning when enemy mobs are culled off screen.

If time permitting, I would like to give a pass over weapon/mob balance, overhaul the level setup to be satisfying, and mature some of the systems from the rush jobs they are. Although, no promises :P

 As for now thanks for all those that have played and provided feedback, stoked to see we made it to #29.
